Partain to compete in North America Central American Championships

Missouri State's Tracy Partain has been named to the U.S. squad for the 2006 Under 23 North America Central American Championships. She will compete for the U.S. in the heptathlon in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on Saturday through Sunday, July 8-9.

Three additional track and field athletes from the Missouri Valley Conference have also been named to the U.S. team. Wichita State's Desiraye Osburn will compete in the 5,000-meter run, Southern Illinois' Amarachi Ukabam will compete in the shot put and discus throw, and Brittany Riley, also from SIU, will compete in the hammer throw.

The Under-23 team serves as a development program for USATF and the USOC. It is designed to give international experience to the development of future Olympians.
