The Missouri State track and field coaching staff will conduct a clinic for coaches and athletes on Saturday, Jan. 6, at Forsythe Athletics Center on the Missouri State campus.
The program will focus primarily on the high school level, but the key principles can be incorporated at all levels of the sport and anyone with an interest in competitive track and field is invited to attend. Missouri State track and field head coach
Ronald Boyce will present training and preparation practices for sprints and hurdles, while MSU assistant track and field and cross country coach Greg Hipp will focus on training measures for distance runners. The newest addition to the Missouri State staff, Jake Kingery, will cover field events, and MSU strength and conditioning coach Terry Sauerbry will offer insight into strength training practices for track and field athletes.
Former MSU distance runner Dana Nippes, a registered dietician at St. John’s Heart Institute, and 2000 Olympian Verneta Lesforis will participate in a panel discussion featuring a question and answer session on various topics and issues associated with the sport of track and field.
The cost of the clinic is only $30 and includes a t-shirt, lunch and dinner. All profits will be used toward the support of the Missouri State track and field program.
