Link, a Springfield native and graduate transfer from Middle Tennessee, pitched eight shutout innings against the Wolf Pack, facing one batter over the minimum in the Bears' 7-0 win. He carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning and allowed three singles and a walk in the game while striking out four against a Nevada lineup that entered the game scoring 8.4 runs per contest on a .303 team batting average. Only one Wolf Pack runner advanced as far as second base.
