Amelia Flynn posted a stellar week for Missouri State and played a big role in guiding the Bears to their best start (8-1) since 2010. Flynn was honored as the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week in volleyball after helping the Bears to a pair of victories over Southern Illinois to open league play. The junior outside hitter from Lake St. Louis, Mo., had 15 kills, 19 digs, three aces and two blocks in five sets against SIU on Jan. 30. Tuesday in Springfield, Flynn tallied a match-high 19 kills on .250 hitting, adding 13 digs and three more aces in a 3-1 win. She added 20 kills and 13 digs in Sunday's win against Valpo and notched her eighth straight double-double in the series finale on Monday with 17 kills and 24 digs.
