Background: Perkins was named the Pirates track MVP three-straight years....Was her conference's champion in the triple jump three-straight seasons....Took the state championship in the 4x400-meter relay her senior season....Was an All-American in the 4x400-meter relay for the Junior Olympics and for the Youth Nationals....Personal: Kindra Dena Perkins was born February 24, 1990, in Chicago, Ill....Daughter of Darren Perkins and Kim Droghn....Plans to major in sociology and pursue a master's degree.
