Was a two-time state finalist as a sophomore at Dubuque Hempstead High School…Swam a 48.4 100 free and had a 200 free time of 1:46:62…In his junior year he finished fourth in the state in the 100 free (45.62) and seventh in the 200 free (1:42.65)…Improved as a senior by finishing third in the 100 free (44.65) and fourth in the 200 free (1:39.62).
