2023 (Junior)
Made 13 appearances, earning two starts in the circle…Recorded two saves in 20.2 innings pitched on the year…Tossed a season-high 4.2 innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out one against Nebraska (March 12)…Came on in relief and pitched 1.2 hitless innings to earn the save in a one-run victory at Illinois State (April 8)…Recorded her second save in her next appearance, hurling 1.2 innings and allowing just two hits in MSU’s win over Belmont (April 22)…Appeared in relief again in the series finale against the Bruins, scattering three hits across 2.1 innings and striking out one (April 23)…Named to the MSU Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for Fall 2022 and Spring 2023.

Kaskaskia College
Played two seasons at Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Illinois…As a sophomore for the Blue Angels, Houchlei owned a 1.07 ERA, allowing just 31 earned runs in 203.3 innings pitched…She served as a two-way player, also batting .354 on the year in 65 at-bats…Earned first-team all-conference and all-region honors as a sophomore…In her freshman year at Kaskaskia, she owned a 2.29 ERA and .382 batting average, and earned second-team all-conference and all-region honors…Two-time Academic All-American and Team MVP.
 
High School
Four-year starter at Hillsboro High School (Ill.)…Senior season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic…Batted .414, launched five home runs and drove in 30 runs, while earning second-team all-conference honors for the Hilltoppers as a junior…Helped lead her team to a 28-4 record, a conference and regional championship and a super regional championship appearance in her junior year…Was third-team all-conference as a sophomore, hitting .337 while collecting 15 RBI and 28 hits as the Hilltoppers went 20-4 and were co-conference champions…Served primarily as a defensive player during her freshman season.
