DeGondea became the first all-state selection for Raymore-Peculiar since 2003 as a senior, earning first-team honors by going 6-3 with 50 strikeouts and a 2.45 ERA in 49 innings on the mound...The Panthers made back-to-back state quarterfinal appearances for the first time in program history his final two years, and he was named the team’s MVP as well as the best offensive and defensive player during his career...He hit a go-ahead grand slam to help his team end a 25-game losing streak to Lee’s Summit West during his junior campaign.
