2016: Meyer emerged as one of the Bears' top offensive threats as a junior, hitting a career-best .315 as MSU's primary second baseman ... Logged 17 multi-hit games, as well as the Missouri Valley Conference's longest hitting streak of the season with his 20-game stretch, March 5-April 5, hitting .355 with 14 RBIs over the same span ... Led the Bears with a career-high 17 doubles, which ranked seventh overall in the Valley ... Kicked the season off with a bang, belting a two-run homer on the third pitch of the Bears' opener at Central Arkansas as part of a 3-for-4 day that saw him drive in three runs and score four times ... Batted .400 (4-for-10) in the Bears' season-opening series win over UCA (Feb. 14-16), including a 3-for-5 day in a 6-4 win in the middle game of the series ... Came off the bench to deliver an RBI double in a 6-5 loss at UT Arlington (March 8) ... Went 5-for-11 (.455) in MSU's three-game Valley series at Wichita State (March 21-23), including a pair of two-hit games ... Doubled and scored the game-winning run in the ninth inning of the Bears' 4-3 win in the final game of the WSU series ... Background: A prep standout from Belleville (Ill.) West High School, Meyer hit .465 as a senior in leading the Maroons to a 21-13 overall record and a Southwestern Conference championship this past spring ... Earned an all-state nod from the Illinois coaches after clubbing 10 doubles, driving in 16 runs and stealing 10 bases as a senior ... Also started at shortstop for the Illinois team in the PNC Bank Showcase and picked up his second-straight all-metro squad selection ...
