The Starting Lineup
  • Missouri State softball opens a four-game week with a midweek matchup at Tulsa on Wednesday (5:00 p.m., ESPN+), before welcoming Jacksonville State to Springfield this weekend (April 17-19). 
  • The Bears are 29-24 all-time against Tulsa, which includes a 12-10 record on the road. Mo State and Tulsa squared off twice last season with the Bears winning both games 6-0. Mo State and Jax State have faced off just once in history at the Ohio Valley Tournament - JSU won 4-2.
  • The Bears rank 29th nationally and 1st in CUSA in double plays (19). Riley Baber (1st - 16) and Emily Gerardy (4th - 10) rank inside the top four in CUSA in fielding double plays. Likewise, Mo State's .970 fielding percentage ranks 62nd in the nation. 
  • The Missouri State pitching staff has racked up 7 shutouts this season, which ranks 28th nationally. The Bears' staff leads CUSA with 7 saves on the season and has given up the third-fewest homers (28) in the league. Paityn Engemann (Jr., Troy, Kan.) ranks 29th nationally with 3 saves. 
  • Right-hander Emily Koranda (Fr., Marion, Iowa) continues to lead the way in the circle for the Bears this season. She ranks 5th in CUSA and 109th nationally in ERA (2.62). The freshman hurler ranks 50th nationally with 3 shutouts. Her 10 wins on the season are tied for 6th in CUSA and she is 6th in the league with 85 strikeouts. Koranda is a two-time CUSA Freshman of the Week this season. 
  • 1B Riley Baber (So, Overland Park, Kan.) is leading the way for Missouri State offensively this season with a .358 batting average and 12 doubles (T-4th in CUSA, 83rd nationally). She has reached base in 9 straight games and has a hit in the last 4 games, the longest active streaks on the team.
  • Catcher Alexis Perales (Jr., Grapevine, Texas) ranks T-3rd in CUSA and 72nd nationally in caught stealing by, throwing out 8 baserunners this season. 
  • The 2026 MoState roster includes 15 returners, six newcomers (four freshmen and two transfers) and features 12 underclassmen.
  • The Bears were picked to finish T-10th in the 2026 CUSA Softball Preseason Poll. Mo State currently sits in 9th in the standings and JSU is 1st in CUSA. The top 8 teams make the CUSA Tournament. 
  • Coach Kasey Griffith is in her second season at the helm of the Bears after going 20-33 overall in her head coaching debut. She is in her fourth season overall at Mo State and took over as head coach on June 5, 2024.
