Bears Continue Indoor Momentum with Split-Squad Performances

TOPEKA, Kan. / PITTSBURG, Kan. - Missouri State women's track and field continued its indoor season with a split-squad weekend, competing at the Washburn Open & Multis, while the remainder of the Bears traveled to Pittsburg, Kan., for the Pittsburg State Invitational. Missouri State produced multiple podium finishes and personal records across sprints, distance, jumps and combined events.
 
Washburn Open & Multis
Missouri State's jumpers and multi-event athletes opened the weekend at Washburn with key performances in both individual and combined events.
 
Shiloh Cross led the Bears in the field events, capturing the triple jump title with a winning mark of 11.98 meters, while also competing in the long jump. Maggie Haase added an eighth-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters, and placed 11th in the triple jump.
 
In the pentathlon, Sadie McCulloh and Bessie Swoboda represented Missouri State across all five events. McCulloh highlighted the combined events with a fourth-place finish in the shot put (10.89m), while Swoboda turned in consistent marks throughout the hurdles, high jump, long jump and 800 meters.
 
Mirabella Redman contributed on both the track and in the field, competing in the 60-meter hurdles and long jump to round out the Bears' efforts in Topeka.
 
Pittsburg State Invitational
The remainder of the Bears traveled to Pittsburg, Kan., where Missouri State showcased its depth in the sprints, middle distance and distance events.
 
Olivia Rogers led the sprint group with a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash (7.55) and followed with another podium performance in the 200 meters, placing third in 24.88. Missouri State placed 10 athletes inside the top 26 of the 60 meters, with Brianna Howard, Kayleigh Jenkins, Delaney Weimer and Claire Farrell all finishing among the top eight.
 
In the 200 meters, Weimer recorded a personal-best time of 25.05, while Jordyn Buckley added a fifth-place finish (24.98). Claire Farrell continued her strong indoor campaign with a third-place showing in the 400 meters (55.59).
 
The Bears' middle-distance group produced another podium effort behind Abby Meyer, who placed third in the 800 meters with a personal-record time of 2:15.68. In the mile, Emilee Brusselers posted a personal-best 5:10.43, while Faith Fotiades, Kaitlyn Hatley and Adrien Martens all finished inside the top 20.
 
Missouri State's distance runners delivered multiple personal-best performances in the longer events. Lena Singleton recorded a PR in the 3,000 meters (10:18.30), while Ella Rew placed fourth in the 5,000 meters with a personal-best 17:32.88. Addysen Clark also notched a PR in the 5,000 meters, alongside strong efforts from Madilyn Moore, Riley Bryan and Elsa Henry.
 
The Bears closed the meet with a fifth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay, as the quartet of Raegan Foster, Barrett Jackson, Kayleigh Jenkins and Abby Meyer clocked 3:53.11.
 
The Bears return to action Saturday, Feb. 7, when Missouri State travels to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Woo Pig Classic at the University of Arkansas.
