Bear Golf Duo Picks Up Valley Academic Honor

A pair of Missouri State women's golfers have been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team for their accomplishments in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic year. Junior Kiser Pannier of Sedalia, Mo. and sophomore Tierney Baumstark were voted to the league's Scholar-Athlete Second Team in a vote of the league's sports information directors.

Pannier has compiled a 3.51 cumulative grade-point average while majoring in Exercise and Movement Science, while Baumstark is a Marketing major who sports a 3.86 GPA. On the course, the two ranked second and third on the team in scoring average, respectively, at 76.28 and 76.86. Pannier finished 12th at last month's MVC Championship in which the Bears finished second and posted three other top-20 finishes throughout the season. Baumstark compiled a pair of top-10 finishes and a top 20 and placed 27th at the Valley tournament.

To be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, with undergraduates having at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Eligible nominees must be in the lineup for 70 percent of an institution's team scoring events or in the lineup at the conference championship.
