Rischer Named to Valley Academic Team

Missouri State's Christian Rischer has been honored by the Missouri Valley Conference for his work in the classroom this season. The junior from Columbia, Mo. was chosen to the Valley's Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete Second Team, having compiled a 3.51 grade-point average while majoring in Business. On the course, Rischer ranked second on the team with a 74.34 scoring average while competing in every tournament in the recently-completed season.

To be eligible for the team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Eligible nominees must be in the lineup for 70 percent of an institution's team scoring events or at the conference championship. The team is selected by the league's sports information directors.

Valparaiso's Anthony Delisanti was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year after finishing fourth at this year's MVC Championship and posting a 3.93 GPA while majoring in Sport Management.
