Missouri State's Tim Holmberg has been named Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golfer of the Week after his performance earlier this week in suburban Houston, Texas. The junior from Uppsala, Sweden tied for ninth at the HCU-Colin Montgomerie Invitational, Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 3-4), at Sweetwater Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas.

Holmberg paced MSU by carding 73-72-72--217, four over par for 54 holes, for his third top-10 finish of the season, his first season in Springfield after transferring from Campbell University in the fall. He currently leads the Bears with a 72.50 scoring average.

The Bears are idle next week before hosting the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate, March 17-18, at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield,
