MARTIN, Tenn. - Missouri State STUNT (7-13, 2-3 Mid America West) had its four-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday with a pair of losses to conference opponents. The Bears lost their first-ever matchup to host No. 3-ranked UT Martin, 15-12, before dropping a neck-and-neck battle in a rematch against No. 6 Central Arkansas, 10-9.
UT Martin 15, Missouri State 12
The Bears and Skyhawks traded blows in their first games of the day, but UT Martin (5-3, 4-2 MAWC) maintained its lead in the final quarter to secure its winning streak to four games while snapping Missouri State's streak of as many games. UT Martin took the first two rounds in partner stunts, but the Bears battled back and grabbed a couple while splitting the final round of the quarter.Â
UT Martin stretched its legs in the second quarter, scoring points in all four rounds in pyramids & tumbling. Again, the Bears and Skyhawks split the final point of the quarter and UT Martin took a 7-3 lead into the half.Â
Missouri State excelled in jumps & tumbling to make up the deficit in the third quarter. The Bears took three points in the quarter while holding the Skyhawks to just one. UT Martin's lead was cut down to two entering the team routine.
MoState again showed their strength in the jumps & tumbling by taking the point in that section of all four rounds of the final quarter. However, the Skyhawks did just enough to hold the lead, winning the team routine by one point to win, 15-12.
Central Arkansas 10, Missouri State 9
Central Arkansas (4-8, 2-4 MAWC) got its revenge against its Bear counterparts after Missouri State took a one-point win in the first head-to-head matchup in Conway last week. UCA swept the first quarter in partner stunts and extended its lead in pyramids & tosses to hold a 6-1 lead entering halftime.Â
Yet again, Missouri State made up ground in jumps & tumbling. MoState shut out UCA in the third quarter with three points to show for it, cutting the lead to two yet again entering the team routine.Â
Missouri State cut the lead in half in the final quarter with its five points, but Central Arkansas scored four to earn its third consecutive win to close the tournament.

The Bears will have next weekend off before ending the regular season with the STUNT Music City Classic at Trevecca Nazarene University on March 28-29 in Nashville.
