Softball Falls on Final Day of Paradise Classic

February 09, 2025

Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla. – Missouri State closed out its first weekend of play at the Paradise Classic with a 13-0 loss to Clemson on Sunday morning.

The Tigers jumped out to an early lead in this one with a two-run homer in the first inning, before tacking on four more runs in the second to go up 6-0. Missouri State managed a couple of base runners across the first two innings, but that was it for the Bears.

MoState settled in, posting scoreless innings in the third, fourth and fifth, stranding a total of four Tigers. In the top of the fourth, the Bears got two runners on base to start the inning with a McKenzie Vaughan walk and a Riley Baber hit by pitch. Unfortunately, a double play halted the momentum for Missouri State.

Clemson would go on to add seven runs across the final two innings, including a six-run seventh inning, en route to a 13-0 decision.

Kayla Ulrich knocked two of MoState's four hits on the day, while Emily Gerardy and Aubrey Johansen accounted for the other two base hits in this one.

The Bears will be back in action next week at the I-10 Border Classic (Feb. 14-16) co-hosted by Lamar and McNeese State.
