Final Results
GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The Missouri State men's golf team closed out its first tournament of the spring season Tuesday (Feb. 18), the Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Club. The Bears shot 300 in the final round to go with 293-304 for an 897 total and a 19th-place finish.
Junior
Christian Rischer led the way for MSU, improving a stroke each day with 74-73-72--219 to tie for 54th. Junior
Tim Holmberg placed second for the Bears and 69th overall with 74-74-74--222, while senior
Ludvig Wijkstrom tied for 84th after posting 70-78-77--225. Sophomore
Owen Swearingen tallied 231 for the three rounds on scores of 75-79-77, and sophomore
Andrew Fallis carded 82-80-78--240.
Richmond went wire-to-wire to take the team title with 835, ten shots better than runners-up Boise State, Middle Tennessee and Loyola Maryland.
The Bears are idle next week before returning to action at the Colin Montgomerie Classic, Mar. 3-4, in suburban Houston, Texas.
