Missouri State

Player of the Week

Clark, Anderson Named CUSA Football Players of the Week

October 27, 2025

DALLAS – Missouri State football standouts QB Jacob Clark (Rockwall, Texas) and CB Thomas Anderson (Kansas City, Kan.) were honored by Conference USA on Monday as the CUSA Offensive Player of the Week and CUSA Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for their efforts in the Bears' road victory at New Mexico State last Wednesday.

Coming off an injury, Clark made the most of his return to the starting rotation for the Bears, throwing for 283 yards and three touchdowns to lead Missouri State to an overtime win at New Mexico State and the club's third road win of the campaign. In the process, Clark tied the Missouri State all-time record for touchdown passes with the game-winning, 7-yard strike to Ronnel Johnson in overtime for the 47th scoring pass of his career. In just his 22nd career start, Clark also eclipsed 6,000 career passing yards, 6,000 career total offense yards and surpassed 100 career scoring drives.

This is Clark's sixth career conference player of the week honor but first in Conference USA.

Anderson posted a career-high 11 tackles in the squad's win at New Mexico State, including another career-best 10 solo stops. Anderson's dazzling interception late in the second quarter at the MSU 5-yard line, killed a NMSU drive there and preserved a 7-7 deadlock heading into the half. His first pick as a Bear was also rated No. 3 on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 plays on Wednesday night. He is just the second MSU player this season to post double-figure tackles in a game.

Other players honored by CUSA on Monday were: WKU's Koron Hayward (Special Teams Player of the Week) and Rodney Tisdale Jr. (Freshman of the Week), in addition to Kennesaw State's JaDarious Lee (Offensive Lineman of the Week).

The Bears will close out the month of October with a home showdown this Wednesday at Robert W. Plaster Stadium when MSU entertains Florida International (FIU) at 7 p.m. in a nationally-televised tilt on CBS Sports Network with special Ag Day, drone show and concession promotions.

Tickets for the FIU game are available at MissouriStateBears.com or by visiting the Athletics Box Office at Great Southern Bank Arena, (417) 836-7678, during regular box office hours (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), through Wednesday.
