ST. LOUIS - Senior Storm Opdahl has once again received the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Diver of the Week award and freshman Aleca Howard was awarded MVC Women's Freshman of the Week on Tuesday.

Opdahl was impressive on the diving board in Missouri State men's swimming & diving's 222-122 win at home against Ouachita Baptist over the weekend. The award is Opdahl's second of the season, the first being after the Bears' season-opening win against SIU. 

On day one, in the one-meter diving competition, Opdahl won assuredly with a score of 332.85. On day two, in the three-meter dive, Opdahl once again was victorious with 337.85 points.

Howard was awarded her first honor as a Bear, earning the MVC Women's Freshman of the Week award.

Though the Bears lost to Indiana State 192.5-160.5 at home over the weekend, Howard swam competitively, showcasing her developing talent.

She won the 400-yard individual medley convincingly (4:27.28) as well as the 200-yard individual medley (2:07.24).

Howard also came second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:21.83).

Missouri State swimming and diving will travel to Nebraska to face Omaha in a two-day meet starting on Friday, Oct. 31 at 4:00 p.m. at H&K Swimming Pool.
