PEORIA, Ill. – Missouri State cross country continued its strong fall campaign with yet another standout performance at the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday afternoon, earning third-place team finishes in both the Red and White Races at Newman Golf Course in Peoria, Ill. The meet marked the first 6k race of the season for the Bears.
In the Red Race, which featured 205 runners, Missouri State finished third overall with 159 points, trailing only to host Bradley and North Dakota State.
Tabitha Fox paced the Bears with a 16th-place finish, crossing the line in 21:03.94.
Ella Cronhardt (34th, 21:24.74) and
Elsa Henry (38th, 21:26.57) followed close behind, while
Madilyn Moore (39th, 21:27.57) and
Amy Gotfredson (50th, 21:38.41) completed the scoring lineup. The Bears' top five were separated by just 35 seconds, underscoring their balance and consistency.
All five ranked among the program's all-time 6K performers, marking one of the best collective efforts in team history:
Addysen Clark (56th, 21:42.02) and
Ella Rew (65th, 21:49.19) added depth to the performance, both finishing among the top third of the competitive field.
"Today was the best day of Missouri State cross country in the last 15 plus years," head coach
Jordan Fife said. "The team executed the race strategy to near perfection moving up throughout the race. Both groups did a phenomenal job of running to their potential and adding to the momentum that's been building through the season."
In the White Race, which featured 220 competitors, Missouri State tallied 100 points to finish third overall, behind Grand Valley State and Northern Iowa.
Britta Foust led the charge with an eighth-place finish in 22:23.67, while
Grace Buschling (24th, 22:52.23) and
Faith Fotiades (29th, 22:56.97) also turned in top-30 performances.
Kaitlyn Hatley (34th, 23:00.97) and
Lena Singleton (35th, 23:04.78) rounded out the scoring lineup, helping secure another podium team finish for the Bears.
With strong results across both races, Missouri State capped its regular season on a high note and will now shift its focus to the Conference USA Championship, set for Friday, Nov. 1, in Huntsville, Ala.
