Missouri State's Hampus Wijkstrom has started off the Bears' spring season in style by picking up his third Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golfer of the Week honor. The senior from Sweden enjoyed a standout fall campaign and led MSU in scoring average (69.67) while winning a tournament and finishing second in another. 

Wijkstrom shot 71-72-70--213, even par, in three trips around the Miller Course at Bentwater Country Club to place fifth this past Tuesday (Feb. 13) at the Bentwater Intercollegiate in Montgomery, Texas. He captured the same honor in back-to-back weeks last fall after winning the Grover Page Classic and finishing second at the Derek Dolenc Invitational.

Wijkstrom and his teammates are idle this next week before teeing it up Feb. 25-27 at the Loyola Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Ariz.
