On the Pitch

The first-place Missouri State women's soccer team defends its standing once again when second-place UIC visits at Noon on Sunday.
MoState leads the series 2-0-0 all-time. Last season, the Bears made the trip to Chicago where they bested the Flames 3-0.
Missouri State moved into first place in the MVC standings after beating Indiana State 2-0 on Sept. 29 and has remained there after defeating Belmont, 2-0, and Murray State, 2-1. The Bears have 16 points with UIC in second place with 14 points.
The Bears are one of three MVC teams to remain undefeated in Valley play. UIC is 4-0-2 and Southern Illinois is 2-0-3.
Most recently, the Bears face the other MSU and defeated Murray State 2-1 thanks to a late game-winner and first collegiate goal from Jane Hansen.
Julia Kristensen leads the Bears in scoring with four goals this season. She is tied for third in the conference. Reilly Heman and Grace O'Keefe are just behind her with three goals.
Goalkeeper Camielle Day is getting closer and closer to another record. With the shutout against Belmont, Day has 25 clean sheets and is second in school history, just behind Jackie Jasper (2005-08) with 27. Day is tied for second in the MVC and 25th nationally in total shutouts (6).
The Bears are second in the country in shot accuracy (.617).
MoState will be honoring its senior prior to kickoff.
