COAL VALLEY, Ill. -- The Missouri State men's golf team is in ninth place after two rounds at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship at Oakwood Country Club. The Bears improved to 290 on Monday (Apr. 24) after 297 in Sunday's first round for a 587 total with 18 holes to play.Â
Senior
Max Kreikemeier carded his second straight even-par 71 and is tied for 13th with his 142 total to lead the way for MSU. Senior
JP Lavalle matched Kreikemeier's 71 Monday and is tied for 33rd with 148 after 36 holes. Junior
Eric Schuessler is a shot back and tied for 40th after posting 76-73--149. Seniors
Austin Gillund and
Carter Lee are tied for 44th and 48th, respectively, with 151 and 154 totals. Valparaiso's Anthony Delisanti leads the medalist race entering the final round, having shot 66-64--130 the last two days.
Illinois State holds a commanding lead in the team race with identical 276's the first two days for a 552 total and nine-stroke lead on Valparaiso and its 561. UNI is third at 565, with Bradley and Belmont rounding out the top five with 570 and 571, respectively. Southern Illinois is sixth at 572, followed by Murray State (574), Evansville (582), the Bears and Drake (591).Â
The Bears tee off for the final round beginning at 9:30 a.m. off the 10th tee on Tuesday.
