The Lady Bear Necessities
  • Missouri State women's basketball is set to play at home for the first time in the regular season as the Lady Bears welcome SEMO for a Wednesday night (6:30 p.m.) matchup at Great Southern Bank Arena. The programs are meeting for the first time since 12/21/13 as MSU looks for its fourth straight victory over the Redhawks.
  • MSU is 159-55 all-time inside Great Southern Bank Arena and the Lady Bears boast a 47-6 record since the beginning of the 2019-20 season. In their last 84 home games, beginning Feb. 10, 2017, MSU has averaged 72.5 points with a plus-14.9 scoring margin and plus-10.3 rebounding margin.
  • The Lady Bears will face their second consecutive in-state opponent after falling 67-79 at Saint Louis last Wednesday. Missouri State will travel to rival Missouri on December 6 to round out the trifecta of in-state contests in non-conference action.
  • MSU currently ranks 7th nationally and 1st in the MVC in three-point percentage defense, holding opponents to 3-for-16 (.188) from behind the arc this season. The Lady Bears shut out Little Rock from long distance in the season opener (0-for-6) before holding Saint Louis to .300 (3-for-10) from three last week.
  • Paige Rocca (Sr., Iowa City, Iowa) is leading the Lady Bears in free throw percentage early in the season, having missed just once at the charity stripe (9-for-10). Her .900 mark ranks fourth in the MVC and 76th nationally. The fourth-year Lady Bear also leads MSU in points per game (13.0) two games into the season.
  • Kyrah Daniels (Fr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) is off to a solid start in her freshman campaign. She has logged back-to-back double-digit scoring performances to begin her career and is second on the team with 11.5 points per game. Daniels has also been in the first group of Lady Bears off the bench in both games.
  • Missouri State's junior class (Green, Scott, Stokes, Taylor) has accounted for 47% of MSU's scoring this season, recording 56 of the Lady Bears' 119 total points.
  • Lacy Stokes (Jr., Mount Vernon, Mo.) ranks 47th nationally and 2nd in the MVC in steals/game (3.0), while reigning MVC Freshman of the Year and preseason second-team All-MVC selection Jade Masogayo (So., Fort Worth, Texas) ranks 78th in the nation in rebounds/game (9.0).
The Series
Missouri State leads the all-time series against Southeast Missouri State, 12-2. The Lady Bears hold a perfect 8-0 ledger against the Redhawks in Springfield. MSU and SEMO will face off for the first time since the 2013-14 season - a matchup that saw Missouri State win 77-66 in Springfield.
In the last contest between the squads, Missouri State led wire-to-wire with current Lady Bears assistant coach Kenzie Williams (now Kostas) pacing MSU with 16 points and a then career-high nine rebounds. Tyonna Snow also contributed 15 points and four steals (including her 100th career steal), while her sister  Bry Snow scored 14 second-half points.
The Lady Bears own the last three victories in the series and have been victorious in six of the last seven contests, dating back to the 2002-03 season. Both head coaches will face the opposing team for the first time in their careers.

A Lady Bear Win Would...
• Extend MSU's win streak against SEMO to four games.
• Maintain Missouri State's undefeated record at home against the Redhawks.
• Mark MSU's fifth win in the last six games of the series, dating back to the 2004-05 season.
• Secure MSU's 100th victory against Missouri schools. The overall program record against schools in Missouri currently sits at 99-62.
