On the Pitch
- It is time once again for the No. 2 seed Bears to fight for a tournament championship. After earning a bye for the first week of play, the Bears start their tournament run in the semifinals against No. 6 seed Valparaiso at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday in Des Moines, Iowa.
- The Bears earned the No. 2 seed for the tournament. Last season, the Bears were also the second seed before going on to win the whole thing.
- MSU has won the tournament title three times in its history. In 2000 the Bears earned the third seed and in 2017 and 2022 the Bears were the second seed.
- The Bears are entering the tournament on a four-game win streak and a 10-game unbeaten streak.
- MSU and Valpo have never met in a neutral site match. The last time these teams played in an MVC tournament game was in 1997 when the Bears beat Valpo 3-0 in the semifinals.
- Missouri State is the only team in the MVC to be unbeaten in conference play with a 7-0-3 record during the conference season. The Bears also have the fewest losses this season of any MVC team with one loss (9/10 vs. Missouri).
- In addition to being undefeated in conference play, the Bears have only allowed one goal from conference opponents all season.
- Bears have been busy adding to their 2023 stats. Gracie English is leading the Bears' offense with seven goals and 51 shots. Grace O'Keefe leads in assists with seven.
- So far this season, O'Keefe has had two games with two assists (Illinois State on 9/21 and UIC on 10/1). She is first in the MVC in assists per game and ranked 43rd nationally (.44). In total assists, O'Keefe is still first in the MVC and tied for 44th in the country.
- English is ranked 16th nationally in shot accuracy (.627) and first in the MVC. The Bears are ranked 18th overall and first in the MVC (.547) in those same categories as a team. She is also tied for eighth nationally in game-winning goals (5, first in the MVC).
- Camielle Day is up to 47 saves and 10 shutouts this season. Day is ranked fifth in the country for her .425 goals against average. Day's save percentage is .870 which ties her for 17th nationally.
- With 10 shutouts under her belt, Day is ranked seventh in the country, first in the MVC and holds a new program record.
