ST. LOUIS - Missouri State swimming and diving's Yuliya Zubina was named Missouri Valley Conference Swimmer of the Week after last weekend's MVC record-setting performance in the 100-yard breaststroke, the league announced today.

During last weekend's tri-dual versus Indiana State and Miami (Ohio), Zubina broke the MVC record in the 100 breast, recording a time of 1:00.66. The time is also the 14^th best nationally. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, she recorded a leadoff split of 23.36, which ranks second in the 50-yard freestyle in The Valley behind her twin sister, Ulyana Zubina.

In other relay action, Zubina accounted for a split of 59.47 in the 400-yard medley relay and a split of 26.79 in the 200-yard medley relay. The Bears placed first in both events, and Zubina helped MSU defeat Valley foe Indiana State, 196.50-154.50, in the weekend's tri-dual. 

MSU returns to the pool on Wednesday, Nov. 16, beginning the three-day Purdue Invitational at 10:30 a.m. EST in West Lafayette, Ind.
