HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. -- The Missouri State women's golf team finished fourth Tuesday (Oct. 18) at the Little Rock Classic at Diamante Country Club. The Bears shot 298 in the final round and, after posting 287-299 in Monday's two rounds, finished with an 884 total.Â
MSU began the day in third place in the 16-team field, trailing overnight leader and eventual winner Georgia State by six strokes. But GSU carded a 289 in the final round and ended with 869 for three rounds, eight better than runner-up ULM and 11 clear of third-place Houston Christian. Then came the Bears, Belmont (888), Troy and Little Rock (892), Tarleton State (895), Wichita State (896) and Texas A&M-Commerce (915) rounding out the top 10.
Individually, senior
Faith Belmear paved the way for the Bears, shooting even-par 216 for the tournament on rounds of 69-72-75 to tie for eighth. Just behind in 10th was junior
Kayla Pfitzner, who carded 70-74-73--217, while senior
Abby Cavaiani shot 73-76-72--221 to tie for 16th. Senior
Arielle Keating tallied 75-77-78--230 to tie for 48th and freshman
Kiser Pannier tied for 56th after posting 77-78-78--233.
MSU will close out the fall portion of its schedule by hosting the Ozarks National Invitational in Branson, Oct. 31-Nov. 2.
