Men's Soccer to Host Drake in Mid-Week Match

SPRINGFIELD – The No. 18 Missouri State men's soccer continues its conference slate on Wednesday, Sept. 29 when the Bears host Drake at 5 p.m.

Quick Kicks
•  After receiving votes for three straight weeks, MSU has broken back into the United Soccer Coaches Top-25. The Bears come in at No.18 with their six-win, one-loss record after sitting in the 26th spot last week. MSU is also ranked No. 15 in both College Soccer News' Top-30 poll and Top Drawer Soccer's Top-25. 
•  In the MVC, Missouri State holds the highest averages for goals scored, shots on goal and assists given. Over seven games, the Bears have netted 14 goals (2.000), put 43 shots on goal out of 94 taken (6.14) and doled out 16 assists (2.286).  
•  Ten Bears have played in all seven games for MSU this season. Kyle Hiebert has clocked the most minutes with 556 minutes throughout the season so far. Josh Dolling is close behind with 546 minutes over seven games, and Nicolo Mulatero and Kian Yari have played 497 and 495, respectively.
•  Missouri State's win over Evansville on Saturday night marks its sixth-straight season going unbeaten in the first two games of conference play. The Bears, currently 2-0, in the MVC, have not lost one of their first games since the 2015 season, when they were beaten by Creighton, who was No. 1 in the nation at the time of the matchup.

Bears from Abroad
• The men's soccer team features a diverse group of men with players coming from all over the world to play for MSU.  A total of 23 of the team's 25 players are international, while two are from the United States.
• The largest number of Bears' players are from England, with eight members of the roster coming to Springfield from the United Kingdom.
• Over the years, a large number of players have come from thousands of miles to play for Missouri State. Since 2019, at least 75 percent of the Bears' roster have been international players.

Take a Look Ahead
After hosting Evansville and Drake in back-to-back home games, the Bears will go back out on the road for a weekend match against Bradley. The game against the Braves will kick off at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2 in Peoria, Ill.
