SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Missouri State women's tennis team earned the three seed in the Missouri Valley Conference Team Tennis Championship and will take on six seed Valparaiso at 10 a.m. to open the tournament on Friday, April 23 at Cooper Tennis Complex, the league announced Monday.
Admission to the event is free for fans.
The Bears completed the regular season 10-9 and 4-1 against MVC opponents. Valp holds a 6-12 record in the spring and is 1-4 in Valley contests.
In the squads' matchup on April 10, MSU defeated Valparaiso, 5-2, at the Courts of NWI in Valparaiso, Ind. The Bears captured the doubles point and collected singles wins from
Hana Sisirak,
Tiffani Nash,
Taylor Shaw and
Claire Martin to grab the victory.
Nash leads the Bears with a 14-3 overall record and is currently on an 11-game winning streak. Senior
Ellie Burger is 11-5 on the season and has one of the best career winning percentages in program history, with a career record of 42-17 (.712).
