CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Missouri State women's tennis lost its final match in the Missouri Valley Conference to Northern Iowa, 4-3, on the road on Saturday.

The top half of the singles lineup ended the season on a high note. No. 3 singles player
Sandra Lukacova recorded her 40
th career singles win as a Bear. The senior dropped the first set to UNI's Kim Zizek 6-3 before winning the second set by the same margin. Lukacova battled in the third set to earn her landmark win with a score of 7-5. Lukacova ends her time as a Bear tied for 25
th in all-time singles wins.

Gunal and Gonlusen both played marathon matches in the No. 1 and No. 2 singles flights. In the No. 1 match, both the first and second set required extra points to be decided. Gunal won the first set in a tiebreaker of UNI's Darta Dalecka with a final score of 7-6 (7-5). Dalecka took the second set 7-5. Since the match had already been decided for UNI, the third set was a 10-point tiebreaker instead of a traditional 6-game set. Gunal won the tiebreaker 10-8.

Gonlusen secured the first point for MoState. The junior won the first set pf UNI's Lorena Cardoso with a score of 6-3. Cardoso took the second set 6-4, but Gonlusen won the final set by the same margin.

Missouri State closes out the season with three match wins, two of which were conference wins.
