Bears Tennis Set to Compete in CUSA Championship

What's Coming Up

  • Missouri State women's tennis (4-16) is set to compete in the 2026 Conference USA Women's Tennis Championship. The Bears received the No. 11 seed and are set to face No. 6 Liberty in the opening round on Wednesday, April 15 at 10:00 a.m. in Murfreesboro, Tenn. hosted by Middle Tennessee.
  • If the Bears win in the opening round, they would square off with No. 3 seed Kennesaw State in the quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m.

  • On Sunday, April 12, the Bears fell to CUSA opponent New Mexico State with a 5-2 scoreline. The Bears raced out of the gates, taking the hard-fought doubles point for a 1-0 lead. Sophomore Lucy Latham and freshman Matilde Ercoli won a stellar 6-4 match-up at the first position. Then seniors Billur Gonlusen and Raluca Puscas teamed up to capture a 6-3 win on count No. 2. However, the Bears were not able to continue the momentum into singles play. Puscas was the only Bear to capture a singles victory over Anna Klimova with a dominant 6-4, 6-2 win on court No. 4.  | Recap

Team Notes

  • This will be the first-ever match between the Bears and the Flames.
  • The victor of this match-up will face No. 3 Kennesaw State (11-6) on Thursday, April 16 at 1:00 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.
  • Missouri State women's tennis begins a new era this season as part of Conference USA.
  • Head coach Austin Hale is in his second year at the helm of Bears tennis.
