KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Missouri State women's golf team wrapped up play at the Kiawah Island Classic Tuesday.

"This was a solid outing for us," head coach
Kevin Kane said. "Not great and still room for lots of improvement, but definitely a step in the right direction."

Allison Bray and
Abby Cavaiani both fired a team-best 77 during the final round of play Tuesday as MSU totaled a final round team score of 311.

Overall, MSU carded an 305-296-311 – 912 to finish tied with Elon in 10
th among the massive 41 team field.
Â
Johanna Wollenhaupt (75-71-79 – 225) and
Faith Belmear (76-71-78 – 225) paced the Bears. Bray followed with a score of 75-78-77 – 230. Rounding out the MSU scoring was Cavaiani (81-76-77 – 234) and
Faith Hopkins (79-80-86 – 245).

"Arguably it was the best overall tournaments for Johanna and
Faith Belmear," Kane added. "So I feel good that our depth is becoming more and more of a factor."

Dallas Baptist ran away with the team title, finishing with an impressive 865, 27 strokes in front of second-place College of Charleston (892). East Tennessee State finished third as the Buccaneers carded an 895.

MSU is back in action March 15-16, as they host the Missouri State Spring Invitational.
