Quick Kicks
- No. 19 Missouri State (3-0-0, 2-0-0 MVC) scored a pair of goals in the second half to pick up its first non-conference win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Creighton on Wednesday, March, 10.
- With Wednesday's result, MSU increased its regular-season winning streak to 19 games, dating back to the start of 2019. The Bears have won 12 straight regular-season conference games, following a perfect 10-0 MVC record in 2019.
- MSU earned a total of 16 corner kicks against the Bluejays with 14 of those coming in the first half. Kyle Hiebert's goal in the 51st minute came on a corner set-piece after the captain soared for a header sent in by Kian Yari. The Bears rank third in the nation in corner kicks per game with 34 thru their first three matches.
- The Missouri State defense has yet to allow a goal in 2021 with three straight shutouts recorded, a feat they accomplished last season on two separate occasions (Sept. 2-10, 2019; Sept. 26-Oct. 9, 2019).
- Dawson Lee (Jr., MF/D, Belton, Mo.) earned Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week laurels this past week (March 9) for his performance in the Bears' 1-0 victory over Drake on March 4. After entering in the 61st minute, he delivered the game-winner for his first goal of the season and second of his career. Lee became the third MSU player to garner one of the conference's weekly awards after Nicolo Mulatero and Connor Langan swept both categories on March 2.
- Mulatero (Jr., F, Givoletto, Italy) has recorded an assist in each of the first three contests while scoring a goal against Bradley (Feb.27). He leads the Valley in points (5) and assists (3) and is third in shots per game (2.67).
- The Bears were unanimously selected to repeat as conference champions in the Valley preseason poll that was released on Feb. 2. MSU received all five first-place votes and were followed by last year's MVC tournament champion, Loyola (19) while Drake (13), Bradley (11) and Evansville (7) rounded out the five-team poll. Michael Creek, Jack Denton, Josh Dolling and Kyle Hiebert were also named to the 11-man preseason All-MVC team that was revealed alongside the poll.
- MSU debuted at No. 19 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll that was announced on Tuesday, March 9. The Bears also hold rankings in a pair of media polls, No. 9 in the College Soccer News Top 30 poll (March 8) and No. 24 in Top Drawer Soccer's Top 25 rankings (March 8).

- Evansville (0-4-0, 0-2-0 MVC) dropped its home opener to Loyola, 2-0 on Tuesday, March 9. The Purple Aces have been outscored 9-1 to start the season with their lone goal coming in their season opener against Lipscomb.
- Freshman Pablo Guillen has provided a nice spark for the Purple Aces attack, leading the team in shots (10) and recorded the goal versus the Bisons. Defender Ethan Garvey joined MSU's quartet of Creek, Denton, Dolling and Hiebert on the Valley's preseason all-conference team.
- Marshall Ray is 30-56-13 in his sixth season as head coach for Evansville. He is 1-6-2 against Missouri State in his coaching career with the victory coming on a road match versus the Bears in a 2-1 contest on Oct. 29, 2016 in Springfield.
