The Missouri State Bears will open their 2021 season Tuesday at Oral Roberts to begin a busy week that includes two games at ORU (Feb. 23 and 24, 3 p.m.) before hosting Central Arkansas Feb. 26-28 at Hammons Field with first pitch at 3 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
The Bears then host Oklahoma State at 3 p.m. on March 2 in the first of only three home games out of 12 scheduled contests in March.

Series Histories
Missouri State is 25-32 all-time against Oral Roberts and 12-20 versus the Golden Eagles in Tulsa. Last season, Grant Wood hit a three-run homer in the ninth inning to give the Bears a 6-3 win on Feb. 25 in Tulsa, and ORU returned the favor with a 2-0 victory in Springfield on March 10.
The Bears are 19-7 against Central Arkansas with a 7-1 home record and 9-1 mark in the last 10 meetings after UCA won the finale of last year's season-opening series in Conway. MSU beat Central Arkansas on Feb. 26 and 27, 2019, in the only other February games ever played at Hammons Field.

Lifting the Lid
Missouri State is 25-13 in season openers under head coach Keith Guttin and 37-20 overall as a program in such contests. MSU is 12-12 all-time in road season openers and is looking for its eighth opening day victory in the last nine seasons on Tuesday. The Bears have gone a combined 16-6 and averaged 6.3 runs per outing on opening weekend since 2014. Additionally, this week's action will mark the 21st consecutive year the Bears have opened on the road.
