Tennis Bears Fall to SEMO

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Missouri State dropped the first match of its two-set series with SEMO by the score of 6-1 Friday night at the Cooper Tennis Complex.

"Overall, it was a highly competitive match but we missed important opportunities," Head Coach Hannah Keeling said. "We are looking to channel this and put right in tomorrow's match."

Tiffani Nash picked up her third straight win with a three-set win over SEMO's Ksenia Shikanoca in the No. 4 spot.

"Tiffani had an impressive win tonight to put us on the board," Keeling said.

Taylor Shaw and Alyson Piskulic went the distance in the No. 3 and No. 5 singles but ultimately fell in their third frames.

The No. 2 doubles squad of Alye Darter and Mary Houston picked up their first doubles win of 2021, defeating SEMO's Daniela Hlacikova and Ksenia Shikanova 7-5.

The Bears (1-3) will finish up their two-match series with SEMO tomorrow. First serve is set for noon at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
