February 11, 2021 | Women's Tennis
SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State's women's tennis team hosts in-state foe SEMO for a pair of weekend matches at the Cooper Tennis Complex Feb. 12-13.
Â
"We are ready to play a doubleheader against SEMO this weekend," head coach Hannah Keeling said. "They have a good team coming to play us. We have been practicing hard this week and focusing on what we must do to be successful. The girls are ready to compete and we are excited to be playing at home this weekend."
Â
The first match will take place on Friday at 7 p.m., before the Bears and Redhawks conclude the series on Saturday at noon.
Â
In 2019-2020 SEMO defeated MSU 4-3 in the team's lone matchup with Ellie Burger and Claire Martin winning singles matches.
The Bears (1-2) are coming off their first win of the 2021 campaign as they defeated Omaha 4-3 last weekend before falling to Creighton on Sunday. Freshman Tiffani Nash paced MSU as she went 2-0 in the last weekends matches.
Â
After this weekend's matches MSU will be back in action Friday Feb. 19 when they host Tarleton State with first serve set for 10 a.m., at Cooper Tennis Complex.
