SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State women's basketball turned in its second consecutive 100-point performance in exhibition play with a 100-44 victory against Lincoln on Friday night.
MSU started the game off with three baskets coming from three different Lady Bears, but the Blue Tigers hit a couple of shots to make it 6-5 early in the first quarter. From there, it was all Missouri State, as the Lady Bears reeled off the next 21 points to make it a 27-5 advantage.
Lincoln then scored on a jumper, but the Lady Bears locked the Blue Tigers down for the remainder of the quarter. Missouri State used a 27-2 run over the last 7:51 of the first quarter to hold a 33-7 lead after the first 10 minutes.
Abby Hipp and Jasmine Frankliln were perfect from field in the second quarter, with Hipp going 2-for-2 and Franklin going 4-for-4.
Brice Calip connected on her first field goal in the second quarter and went 3-for-3 from the free throw line.
Franklin was the top scorer in the first half with 16 points on 8-of-9 shooting, along with five rebounds in the first 20 minutes. Hipp added 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting with six rebounds in the first half.
MSU rattled off 13-straight points to open the second half, with Calip catching fire out of the break at JQH Arena. The reigning Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year scored six of the first eight points out of the break. Calip ended the night with 12 points and two steals in 17 minutes on the floor.
Lincoln gained offensive momentum with around three minutes remaining in the third quarter, scoring 11 points in the final 3:22, to bring the game to 77-31 with one quarter to play.

Mariah White was the leading scorer in the second half, dropping 14 points over the final 20 minutes. White finished the night as the second leading scorer with 18 points to go with five rebounds and four steals.
Franklin, the reigning MVC Defensive Player of the Year, recorded a double-double and led the Lady Bears with 21 points and 11 rebounds in MSU's final exhibition game.
Missouri State shot 58 percent (39-of-67) from the field, while holding the Blue Tigers to a 30 percent shooting percentage. MSU outrebounded Lincoln 51-27, while forcing 26 turnovers and racking up 16 steals. MSU had 11 different scorers on the night, with six Lady Bears turning in double-digit performances.
MSU will tip off the regular season at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at Little Rock, then the Lady Bears will return to JQH Arena for the 2021-22 home opener against North Texas at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14.
