Swim Bears Split with Salukis in First Dual of the Season

October 02, 2021

SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State men's and women's swimming teams completed their two-day dual meet against Southern Illinois at Hammons Student Center Saturday afternoon. The Missouri State men defeated SIU, 205.5-145.5, while the women fell to the Salukis, 187-166.

"The men performed well and we learned a lot," head coach Dave Collins said. "We have some things we can work on but the effort was really good and there is a lot to be excited about as we move into the next couple of meets. All in all, it was a good performance by the men today."

"On the women's side we learned a lot about what we need to be doing and areas for improvements," Collins added. "SIU was very good and humbled us a little bit which we can build on.
