Men’s Golf in Eighth After 36 Holes in Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa – Missouri State men's golf is positioned in eighth place after 36 holes at the Zach Johnson Invitational, a 54-hole event hosted by Drake University in West Des Moines, Iowa. 
 
Leading the way for the Missouri State squad is freshman Max Kreikemeier (Chesterfield, Mo.), recording 79-71 and finishing the day in eighth. Senior Lukas McCalla (Topeka, Kan.) is in the mix at 15th, recording 73-78.
 
Also competing for the Bears were junior Crimson Callahan, who shot 80-75, while sophomore Carter Lee shot 80-81 and freshman Austin Gillund 82-81.
 
Loyola-Chicago leads the 12-team competition after shooting 601, while the next four teams are separated by seven strokes. Drake, Creighton and Valparaiso are all tied for second at 603, while Green Bay follows at 610.
 
Tournament play will conclude tomorrow at the Glen Oaks Country Club (par-71) with a final 18 holes.
