SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State head football coach Dave Steckel will hold a signing event for his new book "The Fisherman" on Thursday (Aug. 15) at Barnes and Noble in Springfield (3055 S Glenstone Ave,), from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
 
Copies of the book will be available for purchase from Barnes & Noble at the event. The Springfield store, which is open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, will also carry the book as supplies last.
 
"I'm very excited to share my book with the Springfield community and help celebrate football in our community," said Steckel who is in his fifth year as Bears' head coach. "The book is about leadership, and I think it has something for everyone."
 
The forward of the book was written by noted author Jon Gordon. According to Steckel, all proceeds from Thursday's book signing will be returned to support Barnes & Noble.
