SPRINGFIELD -- The Fast Break Club, a group formed by Dr. Mary Jo Wynn in the early 1980s to promote women's athletics at Missouri State, will be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame next month at the Women's Sports Luncheon presented by the Bee-Payne Stewart Foundation. The ceremony is set for 11 a.m. March 27 at the University Plaza Hotel & Convention Center in Springfield.
Among its numerous accomplishments, the Fast Break Club's ideas helped Lady Bears basketball become must-see entertainment in southwest Missouri, and MSU led the nation in women's basketball attendance in 1993.
