NEW ORLEANS, La. – Missouri State cross country team earns All-Academic Team status by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the association announced Thursday (Feb. 14).
In the 2018 season the Bears finished in sixth place at the Missouri Valley Conference championship, while placing two runners (
Grace Breiten and
Erica Wollmering) in the top-25. Missouri State also took 22
nd at the NCAA Midwest Regional, with Breiten marking the 10
th fastest 6K in school history (21:32.4).
MSU combined for a 3.48 cumulative grade point average during the 2018 season. This is the fourth-consecutive year that the Bears have earned this distinction.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
