Starting Five - Storylines for the Weekend
1) The Lady Bears (14-7, 10-0 MVC) have won 13 consecutive games (the third-longest active streak in NCAA Division I behind Oregon's 16 and Baylor's 14, MSU's longest since 2004, and the eighth-longest in school history), averaging a plus-15.1 scoring margin and plus-12.0 rebound margin during the streak. 

2) Missouri State brings a 17-game regular season MVC win streak into Friday's contest, which began on Feb. 9, 2018. It's the school's longest since 1999-2000, second-longest in program history, and fifth-best in MVC history. The Lady Bears have won their last 17 league games by an average of 17.5 points. This is the fourth time MSU has started 10-0 or better in MVC play, and first since 2004 (11-0).

3) MSU has also won 13 consecutive conference home games, dating to Jan. 7 of last season. The Lady Bears have won all 13 games by double digits with an average score of 79.1-55.0, and shot 48.2 percent from the floor with a plus-12.2 rebounding margin.

4) The Lady Bears have won the rebounding battle 19 times in 21 games, including all 13 games of the current win streak. In Valley games, MSU leads the league in scoring defense (58.6), 3-point defense (.272), rebound margin (+11.1), turnover margin (+5.20), and both offensive (.362) and defensive (.779) rebound percentage. MSU has allowed an average of 13.1 points in the first quarter and 26.1 in the first half in 10 MVC contests, and made 165 free throws compared to 117 total attempts for the opposition.

5) Friday's game is the annual Play4Kay game. Missouri State will auction pink jerseys and take donations to the Kay Yow Fund for women's cancers in the concourse. Fans are encouraged to wear pink.

Series Histories
Missouri State leads Illinois State 44-31 in the all-time series and has won 14 of the last 17 meetings. The Lady Bears own a 24-12 series lead in Springfield.
    Missouri State is 55-25 all-time against Bradley, with a 31-10 mark in Springfield. The Lady Bears have won 11 of the last 13 meetings.

Scouting Illinois State
Illinois State is 13-9 overall and 6-5 in league play. Simone Goods (17.1) and Tete Maggett (16.0) are the only Redbirds averaging above 5.9 points per game, and ISU leads the MVC in overall scoring defense at 61.1 points per contest. The Redbirds score 62.5 points per game with shooting percentages of .419 overall, .303 from 3-point range and .706 at the foul line. ISU ranks second in the MVC behind MSU at plus-5.5 rebounds per game.

Scouting Bradley
Bradley is 17-5 overall and 7-4 in MVC play. The Braves have three players who score at least 12.9 points per game, with Gabi Haack leading the way at 16.2 points and a league-high 59 3-pointers, while Chelsea Brackmann averages a double-double with a league-best 10.9 rebounds per contest. Bradley averages 72.7 points per game and allows 65.0, shooting 40 percent overall, 32.3 percent from distance and 72 percent at the foul line with a plus-3.8 rebounding margin.

First Meeting With Illinois State
Missouri State used a stingy defense and 21 points from senior Danielle Gitzen for a 59-47 victory at Illinois State on Jan. 20.
    The Lady Bears went scoreless for more than six minutes to begin the game, but held the 
Redbirds without a field goal for more than 12 minutes after ISU's first bucket of the game, during which time MSU rattled off an 18-2 run to lead 18-6 with 8:39 left before halftime
    MSU led 31-20 at halftime, and the Redbirds got no closer than eight points in the second half. The Lady Bears used an 8-0 run to lead 46-30, leading by double digits to the finish.
    Missouri State owned a 37-36 rebounding edge and committed seven turnovers.

First Meeting With Bradley
Missouri State earned a 68-56 victory on Jan. 18 in Peoria.
    Alexa Willard led four Lady Bears in double figures with 18 points, Brice Calip scored nine of her 15 points in the fourth quarter while adding a season-high eight rebounds, Danielle Gitzen had 15 points, six boards, six assists and three steals, and Jasmine Franklin chipped in 12. 
    The Lady Bears never trailed, jumping ahead 7-0 and lead ing 34-17 with 3:10 left before halftime, holding BU to 25 percent shooting in the first 20 minutes.
    MSU had a pair of lengthy field goal droughts in the second half as the Braves cut the lead to nine points on two occasions.
    The Lady Bears owned a 49-38 lead on the glass with six players grabbing five or more boards, shot 42 percent compared to 32 percent for the Braves, and swiped 10 steals.
