LINCOLN, Neb. – The Missouri State track and field team collects solid results during day one of the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational here on Friday.
Highlighting the first day in Nebraska, the Bears took home two top-10 finishes in the long jump.
Jamilah James earned a season best 5.84m leap, lifting the sophomore to a fifth place finish.
Sidne' Williamson captured 10
th place with a 5.67m long jump mark.
Competing in the indoor pentathlon for the first time this season,
Olivia Ott finished with 3,180 points and a career record in the 800-meter run (2:35.48).
Qualifying for tomorrow's 60-meter finals, senior sprinter
Taryn Smiley earned sixth place in the preliminary heats, with a 7.60 time.
Tomi Bamigbade (7.76) and
Amalie Gunn (8.00) also competed in the 60m run.
Chicago Bains finished just out of qualifying status in the 60-meter hurdles with a 14
th place 8.85 time.
Day two of the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational for the Bears will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the 200-meter dash, while field events will start at 2 p.m. with the triple jump.
