STATS All-America Team
Â
CHICAGO – Missouri State University senior
Chandler Collins (Springfield, Mo.) has been recognized on the STATS FCS All-America Team, the organization announced Thursday.
Â
The standout long snapper was named to the All-America second team and represents one of 16 players in the Missouri Valley Football Conference to make the exclusive list.
Â
Collins' presence on special teams often went overlooked, but his consistent and laser-sharp long snaps made him a four-year starter for the Bears and one of the nation's finest at that position. He posted an exceptional efficiency ratio on punts, extra points and field goals, and recovered a key fumble at Illinois State late in the season.
Â
He was an All-MVFC first-team selection this season after being named to the STATS FCS Preseason All-America squad earlier this fall.
Â
The 2019 STATS All-America team boasts 100 players from 66 schools. The Big Sky and Missouri Valley Football conferences gained the most All-America selections with 16 each, while the CAA was third with 12.
Â
Missouri State is one of seven Missouri Valley Football Conference programs to land a player on the prestigious STATS FCS All-America Team.
