HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – Missouri State women's golf is tied for sixth place after 18 holes at the 2019 Little Rock Golf Classic. The golf Bears carded 300 (+12) to end round one at the Diamante Country Club, a par-72 course in Hot Springs Village, Ark.
 
Sophomore Abby Cavaiani is guiding the team after shooting a round-one 72. Following within five strokes are teammates sophomore Brooke Newell (75), freshman Johanna Wollenhaupt (76) and sophomore Allison Bray (77). Junior Bridget Schulte completes the MSU squad with 81.
 
Freshman Taylor Towers, competing individually, tallied a 77 (+5).
 
Western Kentucky leads the 17-team competition (291), while California Baptist (293) and Bradley (295) are in second and third, respectively. The University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) and UT Arlington both carded 297 to knot for fourth.
 
Round two of the 54-hole event will start tomorrow (Oct. 28) with a tee time at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring is available on GolfStat.com.
