TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Grace Breiten earned a top-30 finish for Missouri State women's cross country to pace the Bears at the Under Armour Pre-National Invitational here on Saturday at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
The Bears placed 18th in the 26-team, six-kilometer race, finishing two spots ahead of host and fellow Missouri Valley Conference team Indiana State.

"We had a solid effort today, especially running against teams of this caliber," said head coach
Jordan Fife. "We are still looking to put together a full performance, 1-5, where we have everyone running to their potential."

Breiten continued her impressive junior campaign with a 29th-place finish out of 169 runners, crossing the line at the 21:51.5 mark. She has been the top-finisher for the Bears in four of the five meets this season. Â

Following Breiten on the scoreboard,
Edna Dar and
Shelby Palmer posted personal best 6k times to round out the top three for MSU. Dar finished 56th with a time of 22:34.4 and Palmer turned in a sub-23:00 time to place 89th (22:59.9).

"Grace took care of business again today, getting off to a fast start," added Fife. "Edna and Shelby continued to be consistent for us and hopefully we can build on the performances today for the conference championship."

Erica Wollmering and
Adyson Delaney completed the scoring for the Bears, finishing a few seconds apart with Wollmering checking in at 23:11.1 (102nd) and Delaney at 23:14.6 (107th).Â

Missouri State returns to action on Nov. 2 for the Missouri Valley Conference Championships in Valparaiso, Ind.
