Starting Five - Storylines for the Weekend
1) The Lady Bears (11-7, 7-0 MVC) have won 10 consecutive games (the 4th-longest active streak in NCAA Division I and tied for MSU's longest under
Kellie Harper), averaging a plus-17.3 scoring margin and plus-13.6 rebound margin during the streak.
2) Missouri State brings a 14-game regular season MVC win streak into Friday's game, which began on Feb. 9, 2018. It's the school's longest since 1999-2000, and the third-longest in program history. The Lady Bears have won their last 14 league games by an average of 19.6 points. This is the fourth time MSU has started 7-0 or better in MVC play, and first since 2004 (11-0).
3) MSU has a 28-10 league road record since the start of the 2014-15 season. The Lady Bears have gone 6-3 or better on the Valley road each of the last four seasons.
4) The Lady Bears rank first in league games in scoring defense (55.7), scoring margin (+22.0), field goal percentage (.488), field goal defense (.365), 3-point defense (.281), turnover margin (+4.14), and both offensive (.351) and defensive (.802) rebound percentage. MSU has allowed an average of 10.6 points in the first quarter and 23.6 in the first half in seven MVC contests, and made 97 free throws compared to 74 total attempts for the opposition.
5) Friday's game will be the first time in MVC history that two league winning streaks of at least 14 games will meet. Only twice before have two Valley teams met with 7-0 or better conference records. Missouri State, UNI and Drake are on pace to finish as the top three teams in the MVC standings for the fourth consecutive seasons. MSU is the last Valley team to defeat Drake in any circumstance, a 65-61 win in the 2016 MVC Tournament semifinals.

Drake has won the last four meetings in the series to claim the overall lead at 43-41, and the Bulldogs lead 25-12 in Des Moines with six straight wins.Â
    Missouri State owns a 51-28 lead in the series with UNI, with a 19-18 record in Cedar Falls after winning 57-52 in the McLeod Center last season.

Drake is 15-4 overall and 7-0 in MVC play, rated 16th in the NCAA RPI, and receiving votes in both major polls. The Bulldogs have won a record 47 consecutive regular season MVC contests. Sara Rhine (19.3) and Becca Hittner (18.2) rank 1-2 in the league in scoring, and Rhine averages 8.3 rebounds with a league-best .596 field goal percentage. As a team, the Bulldogs score 80.3 points per game and rank among the nation's leaders with 21.7 assists, while allowing 67.8 points and shooting 47 percent overall, 35.9 percent on 3-pointers and 74.1 percent at the foul line with a plus-5.2 rebound margin.
Scouting UNI
UNI is 12-7 overall and 5-2 in MVC play entering its Friday game with Southern Illinois. The Panthers own a top-100 RPI, with Karli Rucker leading the club in scoring (14.7) and assists (76). The Panthers take nearly 40 percent of their shots from 3-point range, shooting 30.5 percent from beyond the arc, 40.7 percent overall and 78.7 percent at the foul line. UNI scores 66.9 points per game and allows 63.8 with a plus-2.2 rebound margin.
