ST. LOUIS -- Missouri State sophomore Grace Breiten was honored as the Missouri Valley Conference Female Cross Country Athlete of the Week, Tuesday afternoon.

Breiten ran a 14:33.6 four-kilometer race at the Bears season opener on Saturday. Her time at the J.K. Gold Classic marked the fastest 4K in the MVC on the weekend and set a new career best. Breiten finished in fourth place at the meet, finishing less than a half second behind the leader.
