Cross Country Bears Set Sights to Chile Pepper Festival

SPRINGFIELD -- The Missouri State women's cross country team gets set for the Chile Pepper Festival, hosted by the University of Arkansas, the five-kilometer race will take place at the University of Arkansas Agriculture Farms in Fayetteville, Ark.

MSU is expected to be one of around 80 college teams in the meet, which includes open runs for high school and college races as well. The women's collegiate 5K race starts at 10:20 a.m.

The Bears will race 12 runners in the meet, nine of which competed in the same event a year ago, where the Bears finished in second place among Division I teams.

A week ago the Bears finished in second place overall (140 points) at the Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo. MSU saw three top-25 individual finishes in the five-kilometer race.
